2013

I have had a wonderful 2013, with fantastic support from clients and galleries for which I am very, very, grateful.  I am going into 2014 having had fantastic sales and response to the work in galleries and a few commissions to keep me busy in January and February.

I have had continued support from Opus Gallery in Ashbourne, www.opusgalleryashbourne.com, and a lovely stream of Christmas sales at Contemporary Six in Manchester, www.contemporarysix.co.uk. And on my birthday in November Vermilian Gallery in Knutsford, www.vermiliongallery.co.uk, took my work and used the work for the Christmas window display. The owners of Vermilian Gallery have been tremendously encouraging and enthusiastic about the work.  It has been lovely to have had this encouragement for the past year and I hope 2014 brings continued success. I am really looking forward to 2014.

Summer 2013

Gearing up for summer there are so many shows and events to do.

I have just stood the Art Market in Holmfirth a very good quality artist and designers fair with a stringent application process. This means that there are some very high quality designers showing and some wonderful creations on sale. http://theartsmarket.blogspot.co.uk/

Whilst I was in Holmfirth I put the two paintings that had been accepted into the Macmillan Trust Art Show in the Civic Hall in Holmfirth. http://www.holmfirthartweek.org.uk/history/macmillan-support. The show looked like it was going to be very lively, full to the brim of interesting paintings. It should be good and I would recommend it.

Next there is the fantastic Peak District Artisan’s 6th Annual Great Dome Fair. This is held at the Dome in Buxton Derbyshire and this year host 62 artists and designers. It is a lovely venue with a good atmosphere and vibe. So I hope you are able to attend on the preview evening on the 19th July, see http://www.peakdistrictartisans.co.uk/2013/06/16/6th-annual-great-dome-art-fair-get-your-preview-invitation-now/. There will be live music and lots to see.

Hello Everyone

I have been incredibly busy and have not found any time to pass on all the news, so I will get it all done in one go now as it looks like things will run away with me again.

I have loads of really good news.

I was lucky enough to have Wendy Levy from the Wendy J. Levy Gallery in Didsbury, Manchester come and visit the studio.  Wendy kindly asked me to submit three pieces for her Summer Open Exhibition and has very kindly accepted the three pieces for the show. So this Summer I will be showing at The Wendy J Levy Contemporary Art Gallery.  http://www.wendyjlevy.com/

My work has also been accepted by Opus Gallery in Ashbourne.  The owner, Catherine Caffrey, said that she has not had such a good response to new work for a very long time and has sold a number of pieces of work, http://www.opusgalleryashbourne.com.

I have also been taken on by Cloud Gallery in Chester and also in Brighton. http://www.cloudgalleryfineart.co.uk

And lastly I have been selected for Art in the Pen 2013 in Skipton. I am really looking forward to this event, which has developed a very good reputation and hosts some very good artists and some wonderful art. I have booked my little hotel and although I know that it will be work I am sure that this will be a real pleasure as well, http://www.artinthepen.org.uk.

Thank you to everyone for visiting the studio over the last couple of weeks. I will be open until Dec 17th and then closed, except by appointment, till just after Christmas.

Derbyshire Life is doing an editorial on "Visit Buxton" in the January 2013 edition so I have put in a little advert and will be open again on Wed to Sun 10am till 5pm for the month of January. I am sorry but I will then go back to open by appointment only until further notice.

All this exhibition activity has been good for me and I have had a number of good sales. With particular thanks to Smithyfold Studios in Glossop (www.smithyfoldstudios.co.uk) and more recently Bakewell Art and Design.(bakewellartsanddesign.com)

Also Webbs Fine Art Gallery, London is featuring my prints on the front page of the web site.

I have been madly recreating more images to replace those sold and have just been over to resupply Bakewell Art and Design.

There has been a bit of a rush on my White Woods series, both the plain mixed paper woodland and also those painted in the soft winter light colours.

A lasting impression

Louise Jannetta

Christmas Open Art Studio with Guest Actor and Photographer, Bill Ward

Louise is opening the doors of her Studio for a one month Christmas Exhibition, running from the 17th of November to the 16th December.

Louise is quickly gaining a reputation for her large textured oil paintings of trees. These paintings capture light in their structure and colour. The paintings are best viewed in natural light when the light changes with the sun or the clouds, the texture and depth create their own shadows which move with the changing light.
Louise is collecting together all her major works from the galleries that represent her in the area to show in this Christmas exhibition.
She will also be exhibiting her limited edition collagraphs prints, (Similar to the etching process only the plates are much more vulnerable and so will only print an edition run of up to 25 prints). These start a very reasonable £25.00.

Guest Artist

Louise is delighted to be hosting the work of actor, Bill Ward,  and to extend an invite to her customers to view Bill Wards beautiful time lapse photographs.

Bill Ward is an actor and photographer. He is best known for playing bad boy, Charlie Stubbs, in Coronation Street.  To view his photographs see his web site, www.thingsthatihaveseen.com.

The Studio will be open T
uesday to Sunday 10am till 5pm 17th November to 16th December.
We hope that these opening times will afford all customers ample opportunity to visit at leisure and at their own convenience.

There will be refreshments available.

It has been a very busy summer with all the art fairs that take place whilst the weather is good. There is however still a lot happening with the run up to Christmas
I am taking part in a number of events; please see my events listing, with a Christmas Open Studio Exhibition at my Studio in Buxton. I always really enjoy my Christmas Open Studio events as it is a lovely chance to catch up with all the customers that have supported me throughout the past year.  Everyone is more than welcome and will be greeted with tea/coffee and cakes. I will be open from the 17th of November to the 16th December, Tuesday to Sunday 10am till 5pm.
I am going to gather as much art work as I can from the various galleries that represent me in the area to make a large and comprehensive show.

The Studio

We have just finished the Buy Art Fair in Manchester, where I was hosted by Webbs Fine Art Gallery from London. It was hard work but very exciting and really good to be in the thick of it all in Manchester. I stood with David Farren who is a fantastic painter of London and Manchester street scenes and Bill Ward who is an actor and photographer. Bill played the bad boy Charlie Stubbs in Coronation Street and takes beautiful time lapse photographs.
